Create an outing memory map
After a trip, sketch the places you actually visited and add photographs by number. Record observations and changing conditions as dated recollections. Do not turn an old memory map into current route instructions.
Keep the finished note with its date and source material. Return to it when you repeat the exercise, and add what changed rather than replacing the earlier observation.
